love me in a way that I can show on instagram9:27:00 AM

I am entirely guilty of this myself (not posting pictures of myself and my relationship on social media, although that too) - if I'm scrolling through my Facebook feed and I see some girl change her profile picture to one with her boyfriend and a cheesy caption, I roll my eyes and move along. When I see a guy do the same thing, though, my insides are all like "oh my goodness this is the cutest thing ever and that's so sweet that he posted that for all to see because he's proclaiming his love" yadda yadda. Can we talk about a double standard? Like I said, I'm not pretending that I am innocent of this, but why do we do it?
What is so d*ng wrong about a woman being proud about her life and her relationship? The answer: nothing!!!! I think my boyfriend is cute, SO WHAT. I'm not saying that we need to broadcast our personal lives everywhere, but can we stop the hate of social media?
Seriously. I'm a little confused when society collectively decided that the internet sucks, although it has become such an integral part of our lives. It's not really possible to get through life anymore without some knowledge and ability of social media, because no matter what you end up doing in life, it will involve networking.
Social media is not a bad thing. Let people live (and eat cake (which by the way, Marie Antoinette never actually said)).
