The Most Underrated Harry Potter Characters

Fawkes

Fawkes, with his unconditional love and protection for Dumbledore, found Harry in the Chamber of Secrets. Harry would have died in year two if it hadn't been for him. He even died for Dumbledore in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. His tail feathers were even in Harry's and Voldemort's wands. Fawkes, as a phoenix, taught us that we too can rise from the ashes of our lives. Name a more iconic fictional animal. I'll wait.

Dobby

I promise you, I love Neville Longbottom more than you do. I planned my wedding to him in the second grade. That being said, what is up with movie Neville being given credit for everything book Dobby did? Dobby told Harry about the room of requirement. Dobby gave Harry the gillyweed. Dobby basically took a knife for Harry. Our bat-eared friend lived a hard life and I don't think he gets all of the credit he deserves.

Colin Creevey

Colin, a muggle-born, was the annoying kid who was obsessed with Harry since Chamber of Secrets. Honestly, he just wanted pictures he could Instagram probably (if that was a thing back then). I can't blame him. He is the original fanboy. Even though he eventually got expelled from Hogwarts (thanks Voldemort), he snuck back in for the final battle. He died fighting for the wizarding world.

Angelina Johnson

She is an excellent quidditch player (don't forget, she became Gryffindor captain in her seventh year). In the words of Lee Jordan, she is "rather attractive, too." Angelina fought in the Battle of Hogwarts even though she had finished school years ago. She is the strong, leading lady of our dreams. I only wish we had gotten to know her better!

Narcissa Malfoy

Okay, so she's not exactly person of the year. But despite all of the messes that she and Lucius have gotten themselves into (y'know, serving Lord Voldemort and all that), she puts her son above all else. Even if it means putting her own life on the line, she has an undying love for Draco. That I can respect.

Firenze

He saved Harry's life in the Forbidden Forrest even though it meant being ostracized by his fellow centaurs. He agreed to teach divination even though his colony tried to kill him because of it. He fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, where his bravery showed the colony that respecting humans was not something to be ashamed of.

Is there anyone else you would add to the list? Leave a comment and let me know!
When did this become a Harry Potter blog? Beats me.
